Seriously injured woman rescued from rolling car

While reversing out of a parking space, a 36-year-old woman got too close to a steep precipice and the car was in danger of sliding off. Thanks to the help of two witnesses, a tragedy was prevented.

A Hungarian woman (36) wanted to reverse out of a parking space on a farm in Spittal. "She got too far into a steeply sloping meadow, which is why the car was in danger of sliding off," a police officer explained.

Witnesses stabilized the car
Two witnesses who happened to be present and had observed the dangerous scenes did not hesitate for a second. Together, they were able to stabilize the vehicle until the driver was able to jump out of the vehicle to safety.

"She came to rest on the embankment about 20 meters below with serious injuries," the police said.

Car crashed into a group of trees
Nevertheless, she was lucky: the vehicle eventually rolled about 200 meters downhill and only came to a halt in a group of trees. The wreckage was recovered by the St. Peter/Spittal volunteer fire department; the woman was taken to hospital.
