At the Lehmberg
Destroyed wind mast will soon be erected again
Wildlife cameras on the Lehmberg could provide clues to the perpetrators. The mayor is shocked by the crime.
The day after the vandalized destruction of the wind measuring mast on the Lehmberg in the municipality of Neumarkt, it is already clear: "The measurements will soon be resumed", according to Salzburg AG. However, it is not yet clear when this will happen. The mast will be recovered next week. Then it will have to be determined whether it can still be used or whether a new mast is needed. Future safety measures will also be discussed.
The mayor of Neumarkt, David Egger, is shocked: "How do you come up with something like this? I have zero tolerance for it, because it's not a trivial offense." For him, protest should look different. The municipality has already held talks with Salzburg AG in recent weeks regarding a stake in the wind farm.
In the meantime, the police are still investigating the perpetrators and the course of events. Help could come from the landowner Max Mayr-Melnhof. Wildlife cameras have been installed in the area of the mast, which could provide clues.
