Orlando Bloom did not want to play in ‘Troy’

According to Hollywood star Orlando Bloom, he struggled with his role in the historical film "Troy" at the time. "I didn't want to do the movie", the 47-year-old Brit told US magazine "Variety".

He thought the 2004 film itself was "great", Bloom clarified.

Only the role offered to him as Paris didn't appeal to him at all: "It was completely against everything I felt in my being."

In "Troy", the Briton plays the Trojan prince Paris, who unintentionally triggers the war for the city of Troy with a romance with Helen, the wife of the Spartan king. Director Wolfgang Petersen's film also starred Brad Pitt as Achilles and Diane Kruger had her breakthrough role as Helen.

Bloom was particularly put off by one scene
Bloom, who had starred in the Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean films before Troy, recalled a particularly painful passage in the script in which Paris is in danger of losing the battle.

"It said: 'Paris crawls across the floor after being punched by someone, just holding on to his brother's leg'," Bloom described. This scene, which particularly put him off, inspired his agent at the time.
