Wanted to test the route
Styrian caught at 173 km/h: motorcycle confiscated
A 66-year-old Styrian had to return home on Sunday from a motorcycle tour without a license and his two-wheeler: The police had caught the man on the Eisenstraße at 173 km/h and confiscated his motorcycle.
The glorious weather on Sunday drove many bikers onto the roads in Styria. This included a 66-year-old from the district of Bruck-Mürzzuschlag. The man was riding on the B115 (Styrian Iron Road) towards Präbichl in the early afternoon and was obviously speeding.
This did not escape the notice of a police officer who was carrying out speed measurements. Shortly before the top of the pass, he caught the biker from Upper Styria at 173 km/h - at the permitted 100 km/h.
Driving license confiscated
The 66-year-old was finally stopped in the Vordernberg area. He stated that he had wanted to test his motorcycle and the route. The biker's driver's license was taken away and his motorcycle temporarily confiscated.
