Claim against Salzburg Festival dismissed

The "model lawsuit" of a chorister against the Salzburg Festival was dismissed in a ruling by the Labor and Social Court of Vienna. The case concerned claims arising from the coronavirus-related cancellations in 2020.

According to the Festival, the court followed its argument that there was no contractual relationship between the plaintiff and the defendant.

"All of the accusations loudly made by Art but Fair United and a Kammersänger against the Salzburg Festival and its board members Markus Hinterhäuser and Lukas Crepaz have thus proven to be incorrect and completely unfounded", the Festival stated in a press release.
