England's cricket sport is mourning and is filled with stunned dismay: Bowler Josh Baker, a promising talent of the sport, has died at the age of just 20! As recently as Wednesday, he had been playing with Worcestershire County Cricket Club's reserve team in their clash with Somerset - making his passing all the more puzzling, as neither the club nor his family would comment ... 

"We have all been devastated by the news of Josh's death," said Ashley Giles, Worcestershire's managing director, in a statement. "Josh was much more than just a teammate, he was an integral part of our cricket family. We will all miss him terribly. All our love and prayers go out to Josh's family and friends."

Baker spent the European winter break in Australia
Baker was born in Redditch, south of Birmingham, and came through all the Worcester club's youth teams - he was also called up to England's national team for the 2022 Cricket World Cup. Baker, who would have had his 21st birthday on May 16, spent the European winter break in the New South Wales Premier League in Australia.

Almost exactly two years ago, Baker was "ennobled" by newly-appointed England captain Ben Stokes after a brilliant performance in just his ninth Premier League game, setting him up for a great future.
