How Jeff Bridges is doing after cancer
Jeff Bridges almost lost his life in 2021 when he contracted coronavirus while battling cancer. He doesn't like to think back to the time when he was "dancing with mortality". The 74-year-old revealed how he is doing now in an interview.
The Hollywood star, who was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2020, told the New York Post newspaper that he had fortunately overcome his health problems.
"Past"
"It's amazing how the mind can forget all these things. I don't think too much about the past." Jeff revealed that he feels "great" at the moment and that he sees his health problems as a "learning experience".
"Danced with mortality"
His health looked very different in 2021. He told People: "I was very close to death. The doctors kept telling me: 'Jeff, you have to fight. You're not fighting.' I was in surrender mode. I was ready to go. I was dancing with my mortality."
His chemotherapy made him particularly vulnerable to corona "I had no defenses. That's what chemotherapy does - it strips you of your entire immune system. I had nothing to fight it. With Covid, my cancer looked like nothing."
A different approach to life
The Oscar winner believes that this experience has changed his outlook on life and that he now appreciates his friends and family much more.
