Back to Brazil?
Emotional farewell! Silva leaves the “Blues”
Thiago Silva says goodbye. In a video on the club's social media channels, the Brazilian announced his departure from Chelsea FC. The central defender will not be renewing his contract, which expires in July, and according to rumors, Silva will be moving to his native Brazil.
"I came here with the intention of staying just one year, in the end it was four years. It's an indescribable love. I can only say thank you," Silva told the Blues' fans.
"I will be back"
The 39-year-old moved from Paris Saint-Germain to London in 2020 and won the Champions League under Thomas Tuchel the following year. Now the defender is saying goodbye after four years, although he would like to avoid using the term. "Farewells are for those who leave and don't come back. I plan to come back one day," Silva assured.
It is not yet publicly known where the 113-time Brazil international will be tying his boots in the future. According to reports, however, a return to his home country is on the cards. He played for Fluminense and Juventude, among others, in his younger years.
