After 0:5 thrashing
Mockery and derision for Rapid: “Disgrace of Vienna”
The first half had not even been played in Linz yesterday when Rapid were already the subject of ridicule in the social forums: "LASK must have been spying in Vienna too", mocked some and mocked "the disgrace of Vienna".
At the most inopportune moment, Rapid have reached the lowest point of the season for the time being and coach Robert Klauß has also lost his touch for the time being: Rapid have faltered under the German, winning just one of their last nine league matches and going winless in five matches throughout April. Yesterday afternoon confirmed one thing: The current squad does not have the quality to compete with the top three in the long term, so the club bosses still have a lot of work to do.
Hope rests on those who were not yet at 100 percent yesterday or were missing completely: Hütteldorf will need the fitness and routine of Nenad Cvetkovic, Leo Querfeld, Lukas Grgic or Guido Burgstaller on Wednesday if they are to have a realistic chance of winning their first title since 2008 against Sturm.
It was fitting that the next Rapid player was injured yesterday: After a collision with George Bello, Ismail Seydi gritted his teeth until the break, but ultimately had to retire with a suspected collateral ligament tear in his left knee!
