Motorcycle against car: biker seriously injured

A motorcyclist (60) collided head-on with the car of a Dutchman (39) on the Wiestal Landesstraße on Sunday. The biker was flown to hospital with serious injuries.

Near Wimberg (municipality of Adnet), the 60-year-old suddenly veered into the oncoming lane on his motorcycle and was unable to avoid a collision with the car of the holidaymaker from the Netherlands. The man from Flachgau suffered serious injuries. After first aid by first responders, a police paramedic and the emergency medical team, he was flown to Salzburg University Hospital by the Christophorus 6 rescue helicopter. 

The 39-year-old Dutchman and his passengers escaped with a shock. The Wiestal Landesstraße was closed for almost two hours while the Adnet and Oberalm fire departments cleared up the accident. 

The cause of the accident is still unclear. Investigations are ongoing.
