Fire at petrol station: 29-year-old seriously injured

For reasons still unknown, a fire broke out at a petrol station in Spital am Semmering on Thursday afternoon. It spread to the clothing of a 29-year-old man, who sustained serious injuries. He was flown to Vienna General Hospital.

There are hardly any more dangerous places for a fire to break out: On Thursday afternoon, a fire broke out at a petrol station in Spital am Semmering, district of Bruck-Mürzzuschlag. It is not yet clear why.

The clothes of a 29-year-old suddenly caught fire
The fatal incident: the clothes of a 29-year-old man, who was at the petrol station at the time, started to burn. A 25-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman rushed to help. The ambulance finally had to fly him by helicopter to Vienna General Hospital with serious injuries. Investigations are now underway into the cause of the fire.
