Too loud
Veterinary office bans dog from theater performance
A dog should have been on stage next to singer Maria Rosendorfsky at the Ulm Theater. However, the veterinary office vetoed the idea on the grounds that it was too noisy. The four-legged friend would have been on stage twice for around ten to fifteen minutes.
He would not have had to perform any tricks. At an initial audition, the furry candidates reacted calmly to the singing, Ulm Theater announced on Thursday. Nevertheless, animal welfare was placed above the production idea. Three dogs, their owners, the singer and a representative of the veterinary office were present at the casting. In addition to the veterinary office, the animal welfare organization Peta had also expressed concerns.
Scenes are rearranged
When animals are put on display, a notification to the authorities is required for a permit. The theater staff had already set criteria beforehand, such as that the animal had to be an adult and healthy. The dog should also be used to stimuli such as noises, indoor spaces, crowds of people and the like.
As there was still no approval, the scenes in question are now being rearranged. The opera "Lessons in Love and Violence" will be performed ten times in June and July.
