Embarrassing incident
Turlington: Son was bullied with her naked picture
"I would have loved to sink into the ground." She has been modeling since the 1970s and has experienced a lot. Nevertheless, Christy Turlington was not prepared for an incident that occurred at her son Finn's high school.
In an interview with "Harper's Bazaar", the supermodel revealed that students from another school held up one of her nude photos at a basketball game in order to irritate the 18-year-old during the game.
"Actually, nothing embarrasses me ..."
The celebrity mother revealed that she wasn't really surprised, "more surprised that it hadn't happened sooner". But when the school management got involved and "made a really big deal out of this rude prank", Turlington would have preferred to disappear from the scene.
In the end, she regained her composure and accepted the situation: "I'm not actually embarrassed and I don't regret anything. It's a waste of time."
In front of the camera for 40 years
Turlington has been in front of the camera for 40 years and is still photographed in the most important fashion magazines. She is considered by many to be a role model when it comes to natural ageing. However, the 55-year-old doesn't really think that's great. She has no desire to let her age dictate the current chapter of her life: "I don't want to become the face of ageing beauty."
She doesn't know how long she will continue modeling: "I decide that day by day. I'll be 60 in five years and have to think about what I personally want to do in the coming years."
Protection from online hate
Turlington reveals how she protects herself against haters on the internet. She followed the advice of her daughter Grace (20): "She advised me a few years ago to turn off the comment function. I'm not made of Teflon and mean attacks would hurt me. Even though I try not to pay attention to anything negative."
