Chlorine gas leaked from a hotel in Obertauern

A chlorine gas leak occurred at the Hotel Cinderella in Obertauern. Due to a similar incident a year ago, the fire department was able to act quickly.

At 10 a.m., a hotel employee had run out of a pH balancing agent during cleaning work in a technical room of the indoor pools. This came into contact with chlorine and chlorine gas quickly formed.

The hotel was evacuated and the Tamsweg fire department was quickly on site with an emergency response team. As a similar incident had occurred in a neighboring hotel just last year, everything went smoothly and the all-clear was quickly given.
