An animal visitor in the ÖBB Postbus garage in Spittal. Even the police couldn't believe their eyes.

For Stefan Noisternig and Silvia Sommeregger, the working day started differently than usual on Tuesday. The ÖBB employees came across a chamois buck in the Postbus garage in Spittal. "At first I thought it was a deer, but it really was a chamois buck," Sommeregger describes the unusual situation to the "Krone" newspaper. She immediately alerted the police, who couldn't believe their eyes either. "It really was a chamois buck." The hunters Heinz Hoffelner and Franz Egger were also contacted. "We had to keep our distance because we were told that the animal was not without danger," Sommeregger continues.

Chamois passing through
The hunters were able to answer why the wild animal had strayed into the garage. "Chamois migrate to a different area every five years - because of inbreeding. So the chamois buck was probably passing through," the experts explain.

Shortly afterwards, the animal escaped through a pane of glass. "It was not injured. The police officers also went looking for it. No traces of blood were found," the ÖBB employees assure us.
