Model Irina Shayk recently proved on the catwalk just how breathtaking this trend can look. The 38-year-old cut a fantastic figure in a Vivienne Westwood creation from the bridal fashion collection by Andreas Kronthaler, husband of the fashion icon who died in 2022.
Wide hips on trend
This was not only due to the ravishing décolleté that the white dress created thanks to the tight cut of the top, but above all to the skirt that flared out from the hips. A silhouette that had already been worn in the Baroque period and later even more excessively in the Rococo period.
Nowadays, of course, designers have dispensed with the heavy brocade fabrics and numerous layers of tulle and lace that characterized historical dresses.

She also took to the red carpet at the end of last year in a silver sequin dress with XXL hips, also from 16Arlington.
Zendaya also recently wore a corset-style dress with a voluminous skirt at the premiere of her new film "Challengers".
The dress with lace, garter straps and a long train was created by designer Vera Wang.
