Ricciardo an idiot? F1 oldie: “F*** that guy!”

Daniel Ricciardo is furious after the Chinese Grand Prix! The accident with Lance Stroll left the Australian furious because the Aston Martin driver simply refused to acknowledge his mistake and even called him an idiot. His conclusion: "Fuck that guy!"

It was around the restart on lap 27: Aston Martin driver Lance Stroll crashed into the back of Ricciardo when several cars were jammed in front of the hairpin - during a safety car phase! The Racing Bulls driver had to retire from the race shortly afterwards in 9th place. Stroll was able to continue with damage.

But the Canadian showed no signs of understanding - quite the opposite! "This idiot just slammed on the brakes. Check possible damage to the front wing," Stroll radioed after the accident. 

"Fuck that guy!"
This in turn drove Ricciardo up the wall after the race: "I slowly started to calm down, but then I was told what Lance thought about the accident. Apparently I'm an idiot and it was my fault," he shakes his head. "I'm doing my best not to say what I want to say, but fuck that guy! I don't know what he's doing, where his head is, but you only have to worry about me at that moment and he clearly didn't."

Incidentally, Ricciardo was demoted three places at the next race in Miami by the race stewards for an offense during the safety car phase when he overtook Nico Hülkenberg.
