"It was all just a joke"
Styrian girl (15) instigated boyfriend to commit robbery
Styrian robbery investigators may have successfully prevented an armed robbery. A 15-year-old girl and her accomplice (19) are suspected of having planned the robbery in Lieboch (district of Graz-Umgebung). The man is also said to have been involved in a burglary in Gratwein.
Robbery investigators from the Styrian State Office of Criminal Investigation received a confidential tip-off at the beginning of April, which led to a 15-year-old girl. In close cooperation with other police departments, the investigators then carried out extensive surveillance measures.
The teenager, who lives in Graz, was detained in Graz-Jakomini prison between February and March 2024 for intentional grievous bodily harm. After her release, she is said to have incited a 19-year-old Turkish man living in Graz to commit the robbery.
Confessed to planned purchase of weapons
The public prosecutor's office in Graz ordered a search of the suspects' homes and places of residence. No weapons were found. However, the 19-year-old confessed to the planned purchase. The Turkish man also admitted to a burglary in a store in Lieboch, which he had planned together with the 15-year-old.
He also confessed to a burglary in Gratwein at the end of March last year. At that time, wristwatches worth several thousand euros were taken. The 15-year-old was less willing to talk during her interrogation.
"It was all just fun"
According to her own statements, she had neither planned a burglary nor a robbery in Lieboch. The whole thing was just for fun. The public prosecutor's office in Graz ordered that she be released.
