Major operation: Residential building burnt down completely
In Sinabelkirchen in eastern Styria, a house and adjoining farm building were on fire on Saturday evening. More than 100 firefighters were deployed. No one was injured and the cause of the fire is still unclear.
A column of smoke was visible from afar over Egelsdorf-Berg in the municipality of Sinabelkirchen on Saturday evening. At around 6 p.m., neighbors alerted the fire department because a residential building including a farm building was on fire. The homeowner was not at home.
13 fire departments deployed over 100 firefighters to fight the flames. Despite intensive extinguishing efforts, the fire reignited again and again, so that the fire department had no choice but to let the buildings burn down in a controlled manner.
According to the police, no one was injured and the cause of the fire and the amount of damage are not yet known.
