Tuning meeting in Styria: flood of reports!
Following calls on social media, hundreds of fans of the roadrunner and tuning scene gathered in the Graz-Umgebung and Deutschlandsberg areas on Saturday night. The police had their hands full: over 160 reports were filed and 20 "Taferl" were confiscated on the spot. There were isolated incidents of rioting.
Howling engines, smoking tires and enthusiastic car fans: on Saturday night, there were meetings of the tuning scene in several places in Austria, which were called for in advance on social media channels.
Around 700 cars from various federal states also pulled up in commercial parking lots along the A2 and A9 in the Graz area and in Deutschlandsberg, attracting hundreds of onlookers.
Numerous traffic violations
The police recorded numerous traffic violations. In addition to technical defects, the officers were particularly concerned with reckless driving maneuvers such as drifting.
According to the police, there were a total of 164 reports, 19 organ mandates and 20 license plate confiscations.
While the meetings were largely peaceful, there were also a few riots in which participants called for resistance against the police.
