Dealer (21) supplied AHS pupils with cannabis

A 21-year-old man has been caught red-handed, allegedly selling cannabis regularly and for months to pupils at a secondary school in Vienna's Floridsdorf district. 

According to police spokesman Markus Dittrich, the 21-year-old - an Austrian citizen - is believed to have had a "regular clientele" at the school. At least ten customers are said to have bought from him regularly. The police were able to seize 62 grams of herbal cannabis and 705 euros in cash from the 21-year-old's apartment.

During questioning, the 21-year-old confessed. He was released by order of the Vienna public prosecutor's office.

Drug problem known for some time
The drug problem had apparently been known for some time at the school in question. Corresponding complaints had reached the school management as well as the district council and had been passed on to the police, which was the starting point for the investigation.
