Kuchl dismantles Hallein in hit derby, SAK shows up

Kuchl continue their solo run in the Salzburg League title fight. Although Seekirchen gave Anif no chance, the Tennengau side remain eight points clear at the top after beating Hallein 3-0.

No, nobody had expected such a clear-cut affair. "They had a killer run, we had to get over our weaker phase at the start of spring," said Kuchl coach Tom Hofer, who was surprised by the 3-0 win against Hallein. Despite the absences of Savic, Rosenstatter and Seidl, the league leaders had everything under control, with striker Hödl (22 goals this season) scoring all three goals in the win. Hallein? Couldn't get beyond an aluminum goal from Ayetigbo.

At the same time, Seekirchen had little trouble with Anif in the absence of coach Lapkalo (cycling trip to Gran Canaria). The 2:0 victory (goals: Neumayr, Büchele) was already clear at the break, after which the Wallerseer, who were coached by "Co" Rottensteiner, missed opportunities for a higher victory. "It simply wasn't a good performance from us. We've now had our free games against the top teams. Now it's up to me to get the team back on track," Anif manager Berktold summed up soberly.

Things are more exciting in the basement. SAK took advantage of the Anif defeat and celebrated their first win of the spring against Puch, where a number of ex-Nonntal players can be found. Winter newcomer Hindler and Hager scored the goals for the 2:0 victory. "We had the game well under control from the start, an important win," said a happy coach Zeyringer. Blau-Gelb thus moved five points clear of penultimate-placed Anif. Meanwhile, bottom team Adnet snatched a point at home against Henndorf. "We failed to capitalize on our chances, had three shots on target and four or five hundreds," grumbled Henndorf section manager Lindlbauer. Nevertheless, he congratulated his opponents: "They fought to the death and also played well. There was no sign of the fact that they only have six points."
