2:0 against Trimmel's club

FC Augsburg have secured an important home win in the race for a place in the European Cup. The German Bundesliga club won 2-0 against 1. FC Union Berlin, for whom Christopher Trimmel was in action until the 66th minute, to open the 29th round on Friday evening.
Phillip Tietz (47) and Sven Michel (81) scored the goals in front of 29,731 spectators. As a result of the success, Augsburg are now temporarily just three points behind sixth-placed Frankfurt.
The Hessians have to face VfB Stuttgart on Saturday. After a blackout by Union Berlin's Diogo Leite, FC Augsburg took the lead in the battle for Europe. Tietz (47) converted the latter's misplaced back pass. Michel, a "joker", made everything clear late on. Berlin are only six points clear of the relegation places.
