Several sightings
Wolf wandered through the Mühlviertel at night
A wolf was spotted several times at the weekend in the Mühlviertel (Upper Austria). It is believed to have wandered from Münzbach to Engerwitzdorf on Sunday night. It is assumed that it was one and the same animal.
It only became known on Wednesday that a 13-year-old girl had been frightened by a wolf in Windhaag near Freistadt and fled. Now another animal has been spotted.
In Münzbach in the district of Perg there was another wolf sighting at the weekend - more precisely on Sunday night. The same animal is said to have run as far as Engerwitzdorf, as there have been repeated reports that people have seen a wolf.
Long journey
According to initial reports, the animal has also been seen in Schwertberg, Ried in der Riedmark and Katsdorf, according to media reports. The animal is said to be an approximately two-year-old male that may have recently left its pack.
Do not run away
By the way: The state's wolf management advises: "If the animal has spotted you and approaches you, it must recognize that you are human. Make yourself tall, raise your arms above your head. Shouting loudly also helps. This is important because wolves are shy wild animals and generally avoid humans, according to the theory.
