Kitchen fire: Five fire brigades in action

Siren alarm in Sittersdorf: Five fire brigades responded to a kitchen fire with heavy smoke development. Residents had to be taken to hospital.

The siren sounded at 12.29 p.m. on Kleinosterson Sunday for the Altendorf municipality of Sittersdorf fire brigade: the emergency services were alerted to a fire in Kristendorf.

The fire had broken out in a kitchen and several people were injured. The five fire departments did not have to extinguish any more flames, but the entire building was very smoky and extinguishing work had to be carried out. Smoke was removed using a pressure ventilator.

The casualties received initial treatment from the rescue team and the fire departments. The volunteer fire departments of Altendorf, Sittersdorf, Miklauzhof, Rückersdorf, Globasnitz and Eberndorf as well as the ambulance with emergency doctor, the police and the Christophorus helicopter were deployed.
