Accident in Oberpurkla

E-bike rider (79) crashed into motorcyclist (78)

There was an accident between two pensioners on Saturday afternoon: a 79-year-old e-bike rider and a 78-year-old motorcyclist collided carelessly on a country road in Oberpurkla, Styria. Both had to be taken to hospital.

A 79-year-old was riding his e-bike on the cycle path of the B69 country road in the direction of Bad Radkersburg when he approached a roadworks site. As the cycle path was partially closed, he decided to switch to the other lane. However, he probably forgot to look behind him.

Collision was unavoidable
A 78-year-old motorcyclist was riding on the road, who was unable to react quickly enough and crashed into the e-bike rider from behind. The emergency doctor rushed to the scene of the accident to treat the two injured people. They both then had to be taken to hospital.
