Rescue with a rope: 62-year-old hiker falls
A hiking trip to the Hirzmannsperre reservoir on Saturday afternoon ended differently than planned for a 62-year-old woman. She slipped, seriously injured herself and had to be rescued by mountain rescue and the fire department using a rope.
A 62-year-old woman and her partner were walking along the hiking trail towards Edelschrott on Saturday afternoon when an accident occurred. The hiker slipped in the rough terrain on the east bank of the Hirzmannsperre and seriously injured her right leg.
Mountain rescue and fire department had to arrive
It quickly became clear that the woman would not be able to walk any further. So she called the mountain rescue service. The fire department also came to the injured woman. She was rescued with a rope and handed over to the Red Cross at around 5 pm. They took her to Graz University Hospital.
