Action sharp: danger in delay for eleven vehicles

Numerous vehicle defects were discovered during police spot checks in Fürstenfeld on Friday. 55 reports were filed - eleven drivers had to be banned from continuing their journey.

Officers from the Styrian Provincial Traffic Department, Department of Motor Vehicles and Goods Transport, and Department 15 of the Office of the Styrian Provincial Government (Provincial Inspection Agency) carried out the priority action in Fürstenfeld. The aim of this focus was to check the general technical condition of the vehicles.

Eleven drivers were banned from continuing their journey
In just a few hours, eleven license plates had to be removed from vehicles from all over Europe due to "imminent danger" and the drivers, who were between 16 and 55 years old, were banned from continuing their journey. In the process, 55 charges were filed, eight security deposits and several administrative fines were levied.

The main technical defects found were severely damaged or non-functioning brakes, tampering with the exhaust aftertreatment system (particulate filter) and frequent engine oil leaks.
