Team boss Rangnick sees bad mistake by Schlager
It was a catastrophic mistake by ÖFB keeper Alexander Schlager that gave Sturm a 2-1 lead in the Cup semi-final in Salzburg on Thursday. Team boss Ralf Rangnick took note of it in the stands.
It was in minute 52: Sturm Gazibegovic laid off to Horvat, who immediately shot from a turn. But the shot turned into a harmless roller. But Schlager misjudged the ball and let it slip through his fingers into the net. A bad mistake by the team goalie - and in front of Ralf Rangnick.
The German has not yet officially decided on a number one at the EURO. Patrick Pentz was in the box against Slovakia, Rapids Niklas Hedl was given a break after the derby chants. LASK keeper Tobias Lawal recently replaced him.
Schlager after the game: "I have to hold the ball for their second goal. It wasn't the best day from my side either."
