Oumar Solet of all people scored in the Cup semi-final against Sturm Graz on Thursday to give Salzburg a 1-0 lead. After his chokehold on Jon Gorenc-Stankovic in the league duel, the Bullen defender should have been suspended.

Christian Ilzer indicated it immediately after Salzburg's 1:0 goal in minute 11, the Sturm coach put his arm around his own neck, clearly alluding to the chokehold on goalscorer Solet in the league clash at the weekend.

The Salzburg defender had knocked over Gorenc-Stankovic during the scuffle in the final minute, but was only caught after the Senate 1 had already imposed its penalties. Even VAR Manuel Schüttengruber admitted that he had overlooked Solet's assault, which should have been red - which would have made the 24-year-old Frenchman ineligible to play in the Cup.
