Two seriously injured

Female driver (34) crashed into bridge railing

A serious traffic accident occurred on the L206 in Deutsch Goritz (district of south-eastern Styria) on Wednesday afternoon. A female driver and her passenger suffered serious injuries. The ambulance transported the two injured persons to the Wagna and Feldbach hospitals.

The 34-year-old Slovenian woman was driving together with her 23-year-old co-driver (also from Slovenia) from Deutsch Goritz in the direction of Ratschendorf. Shortly after 3 p.m., she crashed her car into a bridge railing in the Ratschendorf district for as yet unexplained reasons. The 34-year-old was trapped in the car. The fire department (Ratschendorf, Gosdorf, Mureck) had to free the woman from the vehicle. As her injuries were so severe, it was not possible to carry out an alcohol test at the scene of the accident. The public prosecutor's office in Graz then ordered a blood sample to be taken. Further investigations into the accident are being conducted by the Mureck police station.
