Fenerbahce will stay in the top Turkish league after all

Fenerbahce is not making good on its threat to withdraw from Turkey's top soccer league after all. 

President Ali Koc announced at an extraordinary general meeting of the Istanbul club on Tuesday that the club would not be taking this drastic step because it would probably have to deal with the same problems in a lower league. The Fenerbahce professionals had been attacked by opposing fans in an away match against Trabzonspor the previous month.

However, Koc also emphasized that the issue of voluntary relegation would be discussed again at the end of the season.
