Man on the street ripped open the door of a moving car
In Vienna-Mariahilf on Linke Wienzeile, a man was driving in the middle of the road on Monday night, shouting aggressively and obstructing traffic. After his arrest, he also attacked a police officer.
Shortly after midnight, officers from the Margareten municipal police command were alerted to Linke Wienzeile. A man was standing on the road and repeatedly prevented cars from driving on by running up and down, aggressively tearing open the passenger door of a car driving at walking pace and shouting loudly.
The officers asked the man several times to stop his criminal behavior, but he did not comply. The man became increasingly aggressive and was subsequently arrested.
Police officer attacked
The 41-year-old was taken to a police holding area. When the man finally got out of the detention vehicle, he attacked one of the officers. A police officer was injured in the incident but was able to continue his duties.
Several administrative and criminal charges were brought against the 41-year-old. The suspect is currently being detained by the police.
