Arrest: 23-year-old has a lot on his plate

Shortly before Easter, a 23-year-old from the district of Völkermarkt was caught by the police in St. Kanzian. The young man already had a lot to his name.

On Good Friday at around 10.45 a.m., the criminal investigation department of the police in St. Kanzian seized a car with stolen license plates. However, the investigation revealed that the alleged thief - a 23-year-old man from the district of Völkermarkt - had not only stolen the license plates.

"The suspect is accused of three cab frauds, several drug offenses in the St. Kanzian area, a fuel fraud and a theft in the Klagenfurt area," the officers said. During questioning, it emerged that the car found had also been stolen. It actually belonged to a 33-year-old man from Klagenfurt. The car, the narcotics paraphernalia found in it and the two license plates were confiscated by the police.

Taken to the prison
"The accused confessed to most of the offences - he will also be reported to the Völkermarkt district authority for several administrative offences, such as driving a car without a license, driving a vehicle not registered for traffic, etc.," said a police officer, explaining what the 23-year-old will face. The public prosecutor's office in Klagenfurt also ordered the arrest of the accused and he was taken to Klagenfurt prison.
