A 26-year-old motorcyclist left the road on Sunday morning and drove straight into the field. He crashed into several young trees and was seriously injured. According to his own statements, he had not been paying enough attention, which is why the accident occurred in St. Ruprecht an der Raab.

At around 9.45 a.m., the 26-year-old Weizer was riding his motorcycle on the L362 towards St. Ruprecht an der Raab when he skidded onto the right-hand side of the road on a straight. Probably due to carelessness, as the driver himself admits. He lost control of the motorcycle and drove straight into the field right next to the road.

It was impossible for him to brake and he tore down the fencing of an orchard. When he crashed into several young trees, he fell and was seriously injured. A friend following behind administered first aid and immediately called the emergency services. The Hohenkogl volunteer fire department also came to the scene of the accident. The seriously injured 26-year-old was taken to Weiz Regional Hospital by the Red Cross.
