“Going uphill”: Goalkeeper talks about her time of suffering
England international footballer Ellie Roebuck has suffered a stroke. The 24-year-old Manchester City goalkeeper made the announcement on social media on Sunday. According to Roebuck, she suffered no permanent damage and is already on the road to recovery.
She has not featured for Man City or England in the league this season. "Unfortunately, I haven't felt well for some time," explained the eleven-time international. Examinations had revealed that she had suffered a left occipital infarction, which can cause double vision, headaches and loss of balance.
"Fortunately, there is no permanent damage to my brain function or my eyesight," reported the national player. After weeks of follow-up examinations and specialist treatment, things are now looking up for her: "It's great to be back with the girls, working on my rehabilitation and, above all, feeling like normal Ellie again." She is now looking forward to her comeback on the pitch. The timing is open.
