Exciting lectures
With horses and tent through wild Kyrgyzstan
Christian Bock (38) from Gailtal has been following the call of the wild since his studies and has already experienced the most incredible adventures. His most recent one was particularly special: two years with horses and a tent through Kyrgyzstan.
Christian Bock grew up on a mountain farm in the Gailtal Alps. During his studies, he discovered his passion for long trekking and wilderness trips in Australia, Tasmania, the mountains of North America and Central Asia, as well as his love of photography.
Far away from civilization
The now 38-year-old adventurer has spent half his life far away from civilization and has no fixed abode. He finances his life with lectures and projects and has already won several awards.
"After a knee injury, I was looking for an alternative to a heavy backpack and, through a chain of coincidences, came into contact with the Kyrgyz horse culture," explains the adventurer. A new dream was born; a horse, a tent, provisions for several months and the Central Asian mountains.
"Although I couldn't ride a horse, I bought my first horse at a cattle market in Kyrgyzstan and used it to cross the wild high mountains between Kazakhstan and China for several months," says Bock. This type of travel fascinated him so much that he returned to Kyrgyzstan.
