“We will manage to stay in the league”
After scoring just five goals in 17 games, Marz managed to untie the knot in the 18th match. The Burgenlandliga promoted team wants to stay in the league.
Five goals in 17 games. Five! Even during the winter break (14 games up to that point), Marz's heads were spinning. It was clear where the levers had to be pulled to avoid dropping back down a level after a year in the Burgenlandliga. "We knew that we had to strengthen our midfield and attacking areas," says chairman Martin Neumayer. No sooner said than done.
The ball just wouldn't go in the goal. It was like being under a spell at times.

What they didn't know, however, was why the goal yield in the first half of the season was so alarmingly low. "I have no idea. The ball just didn't want to go in the goal, it was like being jinxed at times." While the attacking engine was still stuttering at the start of the second half of the season, Marz has arrived in the Burgenlandliga, at least since the recent 5:0 win against Kohfidisch. And wants to stay there. "We have shown that we have the necessary quality. You underpin that with results like this."
ASK can go one better against Rudersdorf. Is there already a preliminary decision in the relegation battle in the direct "basement duel"? "Probably not that. But we're aiming for the three points, of course." And Neumayer is also certain: "We will manage to stay in the league."
