Two accidents in a row: fleeing driver arrested

The police have been on the lookout for the 47-year-old man and his car ever since he caused two accidents in quick succession in Leoben. Now the dangerous driver has been caught.

Two accidents were caused by him - now the fugitive has been tracked down. On Friday evening, March 22, the driver was up to mischief in Leoben. The first accident occurred on Edlinger Straße (L116) - a car had to swerve because the 47-year-old was speeding towards it and then hit a road post. But instead of stopping, the dangerous driver sped on and a few minutes later collided with a car on Eisen Straße (B115). He committed another hit-and-run.

Manhunt for a Ford Ranger
Witness statements confirmed the suspicion that it must have been one and the same driver. The police found car parts at the scene of the accident and then searched for a 2011 Ford Ranger with a broken left wing mirror.

47-year-old received several charges
At the beginning of this week, the police from Trofaiach were able to apprehend the dangerous driver. Tips from the public and meticulous investigations had led to the 47-year-old. The man from the district of Leoben was reported to the Leoben district authority for assault and endangering physical safety.
