WSG Tirol face a crucial Bundesliga basement derby against bottom team Lustenau on Saturday. Namory Cisse has big plans for Austria against his compatriots. The 21-year-old knows how to score against Wattens and has done so before.

In the 2-0 win at the Tivoli Stadium on February 11, Namory Cisse scored in the 94th minute for the final score against WSG. The 21-year-old's jubilation was so great that he took off his shirt and received his second yellow card and a yellow-red card. "Unfortunately, I scored an own goal because I was suspended for the next game. But you learn from it," he said.

Old acquaintances from youth days
It was the youngster's third Bundesliga goal in Austria Lustenau kit. If he has his way, a fourth will follow on Saturday in the basement derby against his fellow Tyroleans. "I'd also be happy with an assist. But the most important thing is a win. It's going to be a tough battle," said Namory, who still has a contract until 2025. He knows Justin Forst and David Jaunegg from their youth days together in the Tyrolean team.

Why is the 1.92m tall striker playing for the Ländle club after his return from Holland (Sittard) last summer and not for Wattens? "WSG always has an open eye for a good Tyrolean lad. But at the time he was on the market, we already had our strikers," said sports boss Stefan Köck.

You always want to become a professional. But I thought relatively late on that it could be serious. Finishing school was important to me.

Namory Cisse

To Germany at 14
Namory left Tirol at the age of 14, transferred to the youth team of 1. FC Köln and was accompanied by his dad Mamadou. He comes from the Ivory Coast, his mother is from Tyrol.

In a team with Wirtz
"I enjoyed a great education there. The 2003 squad was very good," explained Cisse. He also played together with Florian Wirtz in Cologne. The Leverkusen professional scored the opening goal for the Germans after eight seconds in their 2-0 win over France last Saturday.

Namory is happy in Lustenau. "The environment is great and I'm close to home."
