Threat to Di María:
“We leave bullets and dead people”
Death threat to Argentina professional Ángel Di María and his family! As the news portal "Infobae" reports, a note threatening the Benfica professional with death is said to have been found outside his parents' property in Rosario.
"Tell your son Ángel not to return to Rosario because we will kill a family member. Not even Maximiliano Pullaro (governor of Sante Fé, ed.) will be able to save you. We don't leave notes. We leave bullets and dead people," the piece of paper is said to have read.
High crime rate
Only a few days ago, Di María had declared that he was toying with the idea of returning to his home town, although the region is considered particularly dangerous due to violence by drug trafficking groups.
Just last year, a store belonging to Lionel Messi's relatives was shot at in Rosario. A note was also found outside the door on that occasion: "Messi, we are waiting for you. Pablo Javkin (mayor of Rosario, ed.) is a drug dealer. He will not protect you." According to the report, the local police and the public prosecutor's office are investigating Di María's case. The now 36-year-old started his soccer career in Rosario before moving to Europe (Benfica, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus Turin).
