Serious accident at work in Paldau (Styria): A 56-year-old man was run over by a company car whose handbrake had come off during cleaning work on Monday evening. He remained lying under the vehicle with serious leg injuries. Only the fire department was able to free him.

A terrible accident occurred on Monday evening in Paldau in south-eastern Styria: at around 10 p.m., a 56-year-old was cleaning a company car on the company premises when he unintentionally released the handbrake. The vehicle rolled backwards - but the man only noticed this when it was already too late.

Victim screamed for help
He came to rest under the car and was rolled over by his legs. He was unable to free himself and screamed for help. A woman then rushed over and called the rescue services. 18 firefighters from the Paldau volunteer fire department joined forces to free the 56-year-old.

They had to lift the car and pull him out. The injured man was taken to Feldbach Regional Hospital with serious leg injuries.
