Car driver hit by train on level crossing

At around midday on Saturday, a car collided with a train in Unterschwarza in Styria. The car was thrown to the side, but the driver was lucky.

A collision between a train and a car on Saturday lunchtime ended in a minor accident: the driver was trying to cross a level crossing in Unterschwarza, Styria, when the train came towards him faster than expected. He was able to escape the worst of the danger - the train heading towards Bad Radkersburg only hit the back of the car.

Accident ended harmlessly
The car was nevertheless thrown to the side with enormous force. The fire department, ambulance service, police and ÖBB operations management were alerted immediately. The driver was attended to by the Red Cross and taken to hospital for examination. All train passengers were uninjured and were escorted from the train by the fire department.
