Overhead line repaired after accident with US truck
Following the incident with a US Army truck in the Schmiedingerstraße highway underpass in the city of Salzburg, the repair work has now been completed. Trolleybus traffic will soon be running again as usual.
Work on the overhead line in the underpass in Salzburg-Liefering has been in full swing over the past few days and nights. Now they are finished. From tomorrow, Thursday, the trolleybuses on route 7 will be able to travel through the highway underpass again as usual.
On March 11, a US Army truck tore down the overhead line in the Schmiedingerstraße highway underpass. Since then, only battery-powered trolleybuses have been used on trolleybus route 7. The poles were ironed on and off before and after the underpass, and the short route through the underpass was driven using the battery so that there were no restrictions for passengers.
