The artists' collective ĀRT HOUSE 17 has already caused a stir in Graz with its "queerPassion" based loosely on Johann Sebastian Bach and its fetish baroque concerts in lacquer and leather. Now the association is bringing a new series of events to the city.

The idea for this new format came from dramaturge Thomas Höft and musicians Michael Hell and Georg Kroneis. The "ĀRT HOUSE SOCIALS" will take an open form between conversation, concert and art performance, discussing and artistically presenting burning issues together with local actors.

On Bach's birthday, 21 March, the queer club Basement will be the venue for the event: "Inclusion, fetish, theory & practice" will be discussed to baroque music with guest violinist Maria Kubizek.

Together with flamenco dancer Marina Paje from Barcelona, the artistic figure of "Carmen" and flamenco as an artistic projection surface will be the topic of discussion at Tanz Haus Graz on 18 May - including music and a dance show.

The LGBTQ+ focus will continue on 10 October at the Rosalila Panther feel free community center with an evening on the topic of "Diversity, trans*, trouser role" with accordionist Ivan Trenev and singer Iris Vermillion.

On November 22, State Prize for Book Art winner Höft himself will talk about his work and the queerPassion at the Literaturhaus. The common goal: to talk to each other and explore new social perspectives for art.
