During the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, believers do not eat or drink anything during the day. This is a major challenge for athletes. Players from the western league club FC Pinzgau strictly adhere to this. Three players in Bischofshofen are also fasting.

However, the game in Saalfelden started ten minutes late. The reason for this was the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.

The home side had three players fasting, one of whom, Ratan Dudaew, was also in the starting eleven. "That's quite a challenge. Hats off to the lads," said coach Johannes Schützinger, impressed by their attitude. Because his players stick to it very strictly, don't drink or eat anything even on match days.

Pongauer also fast
Things are less strict at fourth-placed Bischofshofen. Three athletes there fast, but make an exception before matches. "They don't fast before a game, but they do otherwise," explains head coach Adonis Spica, who also adheres to this rule himself.
