Reception in Mattersburg
Homecoming with
Charlize Mörz was celebrated! After her first World Cup victory and the resulting qualification for the Olympic Games, the reception in Mattersburg was full of joy and pride.
It all began in the gym at the kindergarten in Mattersburg. Charlize Mörz took her first "steps" in sport there. At the age of 18, she is now the first Austrian to win a World Cup in gymnastics! With her success in Baku, Mörz also qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris.
It was almost logical that she received a festive welcome on her return to Mattersburg - in the aforementioned gymnasium in Mühlgasse. By family, friends, but also numerous children who wanted to celebrate their idol. Among the well-wishers were also sports councillor Heinrich Dorner and Mattersburg's mayor Claudia Schlager. Charlize was moved. "I'm still speechless. This is amazing. I really didn't expect this."
"Absent" sisters
While dad and ex-footballer Michael Mörz, mom Nina and brother Nicholas attended the reception, sisters Collien and Alissa "shone" with their absence. For a good reason! The two represented Red-White-Red at the Team Challenge as part of the DTB Cup in Stuttgart. Austria took eighth place.
