Basketball players battle for the number one spot in the city

On Sunday at 5.30 pm, the two Viennese clubs will clash for the third time this season in the top basketball league at the Hallmann Dome in Favoriten. The score is 1:1 so far, but the third clash counts twice.

BC Vienna won in November and the Timberwolves in January. Who will win the third derby of the season between Vienna's basketball super league teams on Sunday? "We're looking forward to a good derby against our friends from the Timberwolves, we have a good relationship. Unfortunately, two very important players, Vujosevic and Bajo, are out injured," sighs BC manager Petar Stazic.

Not all players are fit for the rivals from the Danube city either. "Kuresevic will be out for a few weeks with a torn ligament and Lanegger is also unlikely to be able to play due to his back problems," revealed the Timberwolves' sporting director Hubert Schmidt.

After the points were shared after the basic round, only one point each remained from the respective derby victories. In the qualifying round, there are now "real" two points for the table. So a win in the third derby counts double.
