Bomb threat against disco in Graz: venue evacuated
A discotheque in Graz was evacuated on Saturday night following a bomb threat. "The outrage among the guests was great", they say.
It should have been a long night of partying, but a bomb threat ended the "two-euro party" in a large disco on Triester Straße in Graz early. The Red Cross received a call at around midnight: "The caller explicitly said that he had planted a bomb in the disco," explained police spokesman Michael Martinelli.
The Red Cross called in the police, who went to the club with several patrols and a sniffer dog. "We then searched the disco room by room." Fortunately, no bombs or similar objects were found.
Guests were shocked
"The visitors were naturally surprised why there were suddenly so many police there," says Martinelli. "There was great indignation that the party night was now over, some guests were very shocked."
Who made the call? The police are already investigating. There is a suspicion that now needs to be confirmed. The disco did not reopen after the incident.
