A proud Floriani
“Tobias is an asset to the fire department”
A special comradeship that benefits all sides is now opening a new chapter in Niederhausleiten-Höfing. Tobias is at the center of it.
Very special guests were invited to a charity fair in the run-up to World Down Syndrome Day (March 21) at Seitenstetten Abbey in the district of Amstetten. In addition to the district fire commander Rudolf Katzengruber and the clerks Christian and Carina Kampner, Tobias was also among those present. He himself was born with trisomy 21. And he was an important member of the youth fire department in Niederhausleiten-Höfing for many years. "We were able to learn a lot from each other and we are glad that we started this experiment, because it was definitely a success for everyone," says a delighted Carina Kampner.
"You enrich his life"
But Tobias' Silver Helmet career didn't end with his age-related retirement from the FF-Jugend. He was transferred to the active ranks of the fire brigade as a supporting member. "Tobias feels very comfortable and valued. He proudly tells us every time what he was allowed to do," says his mother, expressing her heartfelt thanks for the opportunity her son was given in the fire department. "Also for the patience and perseverance it requires. You enrich Tobias' life," says his mother, touched.
